The
Inn dates back to around 1590, when it was a fortified farm. It
then operated as a coaching Inn before its conversion to what
you see today. Comfortable en-suite bedrooms have replaced the
old Longroom and a relaxing lounge takes the place of the original
farmhouse. Tales of tunnels
contribute to the mystique of this unique location. You'll feel
the strong ambience associated with the local countryside, which
is steeped in the history of the ancient Romans and the Border
Reivers.
